East Millinocket means East of "many islands" in the language Maine's Abenaki people. The town lies on the northern side of the West Branch of the Penobscot River, seventy miles north of Bangor. The town was incorporated on February 21,1907.

This rural Northern Maine community has a population of approximately 1860 people, rich in many different ethnic backgrounds. With an interesting history of being started around the business of papermaking to moving into the 21st century with many ideas of economic development, we welcome you.

PayPort Online allows residents of East Millinocket to pay their property taxes and town utility bills online. Please use the following links to make your payments.

PayPort is a service offered by a third party working in partnership with the State of Maine and this municipality. As part of our service to you, we will remit the designated portion of your payment to the municipality on your behalf. The balance funds the operation of this and other Maine.gov online services.

Transactions up to $40 will incur $1 minimum fee.

Transactions over $40 will incur a 2.5% fee. For example, $100 will incur 2.50 fee = $102.50 will be charged to the card.
