Students attend School Union 113 for their education.  The Union is made up of the towns of East Millinocket, Medway and Woodville.  Students attend school at either Opal Myrick School, Medway Middle School or Schenck High School.

The Opal Myrick School was built in 1926 - 27.   The building originally was the Garrett Schenck Jr., High School.  As the town grew a new building was built for a high school and the building was renamed Opal Myrick School in memory of a long time teacher and principal of the East Millinocket School system. In 1960 with continually growing enrollment a 6 room addition was built on the south side of the building and in 1963 a mathching addition was built on the north end of the building.

Children from East Millinocket, Medway and Woodville in Kindergarten to grade four attend this school with an enrollment of 198 students.

Schenck High School was built in 1957.   In 1958 students from Medway began attending Schenck.  With growing enrollment a new addition was added to Schenck in 1966. 

Children from East Millinocket, Medway and Woodville in grades 9 - 12 attend this school with an enrollment of 214 students.

Established in 1987, in an effort to meet your educational needs, a unique partnership was formed between Eastern Maine Community College and the University of Maine System.   The Center offers courses for certificate, associate, bachelor, and master programs. For business and industry, we provide customized training, including Zenger-Miller and apprenticeship training information.  The Center is located on Rt. 157, in the Katahdin Regional Industrial Park in East Millinocket.  The Center has professional staff available to assist you in meeting your educational goals.
