The East Millinocket Planning Board (EMPB) held their monthly meeting on May 21, 2026, and our most significant topic was the selection of two (2) homes as Home & Yard of the Month for the month of May 2026. The properties were selected based on adherence to the East Millinocket Land Use Ordinance. Twenty-one (21) properties were reviewed, with three pictures of each property at different angles, and the two winning properties and owners' names are cited below:

The two winners were awarded at least $100.00 in gift certificates from local supporting businesses, an opportunity to post their picture of their homes and property on the town website, a sign in front of their home showing that they are "Home & Yard of the Month", and a newspaper article will be submitted to the local newspaper.
This program is intended to instill healthy competition amongst neighbors, our town, simultaneously improving our towns' appearance, lowering our mill rate, increasing property values, and making it more attractive for tourism. We intend to run this program from May - September 2026.
