The East Millinocket Water Works was established in 1979.  It was purchased from General Waterworks Corporation, out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which had been in force since 1907.  (This was the same year the Town of East Millinocket was incorporated.)

Currently the Town’s water sources are three gravel packed wells located on the Hathaway Road.  The Water Works personnel are responsible for routinely monitoring and treating our water supply according to Federal and State laws; however, they also work to maintain approximately 28 miles of water lines and 110 fire hydrants and other related maintenance.
